Parking
There is plenty of parking available onsite and accessible parking as well. Access to the Beaufort Unit is available by parking in the back fenced parking lot and entering up the ramp to the main doorway. There is no fee for parking.

Preparing for Your Visit
Take a tour of the facility you are attending. Ask questions about medications, billing, meals, visitations, and anything else that is on your mind.
You should also:
- Be clear about pick up and drop off times.
- Understand how billing works ahead of time.
- Complete any paperwork before you arrive.
- Cancel all community services for the duration of the stay.
- Label all client’s personal items (some locations have a labelling service).
- Check your location’s medication procedure.
- Be prepared to bring equipment you use at home such as walkers or custom items.
- Provide an information sheet about the client with some details on what they like and how to support them.
- Bring favourite photographs, blankets, and snacks to feel at home.
- Bring books, crosswords, and crafts the client enjoys.
Visitors and Caregivers

During influenza season (typically December-March), to help protect patients from the flu, all visitors will be expected to wear a mask in our facilities if they have not had a flu shot. For more information, please read our Influenza Protection Policy.
Provincial policy requires all visitors to be informed: "Violence, foul language and abusive behaviours are not acceptable. Verbal threats or acts of violence will not be tolerated and may result in removal from this facility and/or prosecution."
Motorized Scooter Policy
Motorized scooters or electric wheelchairs are not permitted.
Pet Policy
Pets are not permitted to live in Cumberland Lodge. Visiting pets are welcome and must be leashed at all times, have current vaccinations, and be well-mannered. No pets are permitted in any area where food is prepared or served.
Smoking Policy
For residents who smoke, there is a specific gazebo provided that has lighting, heating, shade and an emergency call bell. Residents must be able to transport themselves in and out of the smoking gazebo and smoke independently.
Safety/Security Features
Non-secure unit. Keypad-secured.
Any Other Amenities
Medications: Facility pharmacy dispenses medication. Medications administered by facility staff.
Laundry service: Staff will launder the client’s clothes, but all clothing must be labelled. Cumberland Lodge does offer a labelling service for a $35 fee.
