Island Health declared a COVID-19 outbreak at The Gardens on December 19 after one staff member tested positive. No other cases in staff or residents were identified related to this outbreak. The outbreak is now declared over.
The Gardens is owned and operated by the McIntosh family. Their team is to be commended for the swift and professional response to this outbreak, and ensuring no residents were affected.
With the outbreak declared over, the following will occur at The Gardens:
- Booking for visitation will begin immediately;
- Admissions to the home will resume on January 4.
