Duncan – The entrance to the emergency department at the Cowichan District Hospital will be temporarily closed from 6 a.m. on December 15 until 3 p.m. on December 19 to allow necessary repairs to occur.
The emergency department will always remain open and accessible, 24/7.
Access will vary depending on the time of day:
- During the day, from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. – Patients and visitors will enter through the main entrance to the hospital
- Overnight, from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. – Patients will enter through the ambulance bay doors, directly beside the normal emergency department entrance
Signage will be posted and additional staff will be stationed at entrances to help guide people to the emergency department.
