Island Health has leased space within a new building at 6425 Norcross Road that will improve access to services and provide the infrastructure needed to support future growth.
As of October 17, 2022, clients of the home and community care office at 121 Ingram Street in Duncan will attend the new location on Norcross Road for their appointments. Duncan Community Health Services will continue to offer a wide range of health supports, and in the new location will provide increased access to IV and wound care services within the clinic setting.
As the demand for these health supports continues to grow along with the community, the new space will allow health-care staff to continue to provide integrated quality care in an accessible setting that supports patient safety and privacy.
In addition to Duncan Community Health Services, staff from Cowichan Home Support Services, Health Protection and Environment Services, the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project, and local Island Health administration will relocate to the nearly 21,000 square foot, two story building. The new space contains five large exam rooms and a dedicated IV therapy room.
The new location offers significantly expanded parking options. Further, a BC Transit stop is located nearby on Drinkwater Road at Cowichan Commons approximately 400 metres from the new building. The office is served by the #3 Quamichan and #7X Cowichan Lake Express bus routes.
