The Ladysmith Community Health Centre is adjusting its urgent care patient registration hours to 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., everyday, effective Thursday, June 1. In alignment with the Oceanside Health Centre hours, this adjustment will help ensure physicians and staff can provide access to safe and sustainable care during peak hours.
New patients will no longer be registered after 9:30 p.m. to allow the care team to continue providing care to existing patients.
The Ladysmith Community Health Centre previously operated from 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. On average, less than one patient per day arrives after 9:30 p.m.
People in need of urgent care before 7:30 a.m. or after 9:30 p.m. can attend the Cowichan District Hospital or Nanaimo Regional General Hospital emergency departments (24 hours a day).
As ever, anyone experiencing a medical emergency should call 911 or, if possible, proceed to the nearest emergency department.
If you are unsure if you are experiencing a medical situation requiring a visit to an emergency department, confidential health information and advice from a registered nurse is available toll free, 24/7 by calling HealthLink BC at 811.
