Why Our Program is Important
As the largest employer on Vancouver Island, we want our workforce to resemble the population we serve more closely. Island Health’s Indigenous Recruitment & Retention Program was created to help us build strong long-term relationships with the First Nations communities and Indigenous organizations on Vancouver Island.
Through a wide range of initiatives, we are working to encourage and enhance Indigenous employment on Vancouver Island in the health-care sector to assist in meeting Island Health's future workforce needs.
