Island wide – Island Health is looking for 100 people who are willing to come together for an exciting, 24-hour session to generate ideas to improve health and care. The first ever Code Hack is taking place March 8 to 10, 2019.
Teams of patients, Island Health staff, physician partners, industry experts, coders, builders, designers and students will compete to solve healthcare challenges. The benefits of the 24-hour brainstorm session are bringing together people from various disciplines, with different perspectives and in an innovative environment where new concepts are generated. The contest sounds high-tech but participants don’t need to be tech savvy. Code Hack is for anyone who wants to be part of solutions to health system challenges.
The Island Health simulation lab, with mannequins that are powered by wireless technology to replicate real-life medical situations, will be available to teams and there will be a 3D printer onsite. Bring your ideas, energy and collaborative spirit! Deadline for registration is January 31, 2019.
The winning team will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to continue to work on their Code Hack idea. For more information and to register, please visit www.islandhealth.ca/codehack.
