The Comox Valley Nursing Centre is a service within Island Health’s Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease management portfolio and is located in Courtenay, British Columbia. We believe in partnerships between clients, family and health care professionals.

The Comox Valley Nursing Centre provides services in the following areas:

Health Connections Clinic 

Health Connections Clinic at the Comox Valley Nursing Centre is team-based primary health care providing care for Comox Valley residents who don't have a regular family doctor or nurse practitioner. 

We provide care for people with complex medical and/or socio-economic needs. This could include mental health and substance use issues, homelessness, poverty, and complex chronic disease.  

We are family doctors, nurse practitioners, social workers, registered nurses and administrative staff working with you as a part of a team to best support your health needs.

To access Health Connections Clinic:

  • Call to book an initial intake appointment with a primary care nurse
  • Get referred by an agency 
  • Call to book follow up appointments

Positive Wellness North Island (HIV/Hep B&C)

We are a team of health care professionals working in association with your family physician/nurse practitioner and HIV specialist.  We provide an integrated service of prevention, education, treatment and support related to HIV and viral hepatitis.

Chronic Disease and Chronic Pain Program

The Chronic Disease and Chronic Pain Program offers individual and group support to assist those living with complex chronic conditions. We work as a team to provide education, self-management support, links to resources and connection to various other programs. 

Our team of registered nurses, physiotherapists and social workers will help you address barriers to wellness and develop an individualized self-management plan.

  • Request a referral from your primary care provider. 
  • Those that don’t have a primary care provider may self-refer by contacting us at: 250-331-8502
