The Chemainus Health Care Centre is adjusting its operating hours to 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., everyday, effective Saturday, May 21. This adjustment will ensure physicians and staff can provide access to safe and sustainable care during peak hours.
The Chemainus Health Care Centre previously operated from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. On average, approximately one patient per day is seen during the period of the change in hours.
People in need of urgent care before 8:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. can attend the Ladysmith Community Health Centre (open 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.), or the Cowichan District Hospital emergency department (24 hours a day).
Island Health continues to recruit to support a sustainable staffing model for the Chemainus Health Care Centre.
