Temporary relocation of main entrance to rehabilitation unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

People attending the rehabilitation unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) should be aware of the temporary relocation of the main entrance to the building.

The main entrance to the rehabilitation unit will be closed from Monday, December 1 through Wednesday, December 31, to accommodate construction work to upgrade the entry way.

During this time, all foot traffic must use the temporary ambulatory care entrance, the hospital main entrance or the perinatal/renal entrance. Accessible parking spaces are available in the upper parking lot in front of the hospital main entrance. There are also patient drop off areas at the main entrance and in front of the temporary entrance to ambulatory care.

Signage will be in place at the alternate entrances to direct foot traffic to the rehabilitation unit. An information desk is located in the hospital lobby near the main entrance to assist patients and staff with directions to the rehabilitation unit.

Patients are advised to allow for extra time when coming to their rehab appointments.
