How to Get Care at this Clinic
The Chemainus Health Centre offers a range of services, including urgent care, long-term care, laboratory services and medical imaging/radiology.
You can visit the Urgent Care Centre for serious health issues that are not life-threatening.
Walk-in only - no appointment necessary. Arrive early. Walk-in spots fill up fast. Check opening times before you go, in case the clinic is at capacity and no longer accepting patients that day.
When you arrive, a nurse or doctor will assess how urgent your condition is. You’ll be seen based on need — not the time you arrived.
When to Visit the Urgent Care Centre
Your family doctor or nurse practitioner knows your healthcare needs the best, call them first. If you can’t see them, visit this clinic for care for the following non-life-threatening health concerns.
When you arrive, a nurse or doctor will assess how urgent your condition is. Medical staff can run tests like X-rays or bloodwork and treat many issues on-site. If you need more advanced care, they can arrange for an ambulance to take you to the hospital. Wait times depend on how urgently you need care.
