Operating Without a Licence

Island Health’s Community Care Facilities Licensing Program investigates all allegations of unlicensed facilities operating in contravention of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.

Concerns regarding operations providing care to three or more persons who are not related to the operator by blood or marriage may be reported to your local licensing office.

Operations that are identified through the investigation process to have confirmed violations the Community Care and Assisted Living Act will have summaries of the investigation posted on the website.

The summary of the complaint information reflects the date when the complaint was received, the violation to the legislation, and indicates the steps the operation has taken in order to be in compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
