Digital Parking Permits - General Staff Parking Areas
General Parking Terms and Conditions
- Island Health Traffic & Parking Regulations (The Regulations) are available on the Island Health intranet Parking Services web page and through Island Health Parking Services. It is the responsibility of the applicant to review and become familiar with The Regulations.
- Parking at Island Health is not a condition of employment. The parking program is voluntary, there is no requirement to participate.
- Permit parking is not available to the permit holder for attending the site for non work-related purposes.
- Permits may no longer be utilized after the Island Health relationship ends.
- Permits are only valid for use in designated staff parking areas. Please refer to site maps available on the intranet and local site signage to determine designated parking areas and restrictions.
- Parking on site is not guaranteed. Purchase of a parking permit is not a guarantee of parking availability.
- Failure to ensure accurate active license plate information in the digital permit system may result in the vehicle receiving a parking violation or the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.
- The permit is registered to the applicant only, resale/shared uses is prohibited and may result in a parking violation, or the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.
- Island Health reserves the right to conduct audits and revoke parking permits.
Parking Fees
- Parking fees will not be reimbursed for days not used which will include but is not limited to vacation, sick time, inability to find available parking, unused days, and working at Island Health sites where pay parking is not in effect. It is the responsibility of the applicant to consider their options prior to purchasing a parking permit.
- Parking rates may vary from one site to another and between employees of various unions. Rates are available on the Island Health intranet parking site.
- To stop a parking permit, ensure the digital permit is not set to Auto-Renewal. Users can continue to use their parking permits until the permit expires. It is the applicant’s responsibility to manage parking permit renewals.
Payroll Deductions
- Payroll deducted permits are only available to Island Health and Provincial Health Services Authority staff with some exceptions.
- Payroll deducted permits are not available to staff who are also students, such as ESNs.
- By agreeing to these terms and conditions you authorize Island Health Parking Services to utilize payroll deductions when purchasing a payroll deducted parking permit.
- Payroll deductions are charged based on the number of hours an employee is paid during a pay period including (but not limited to) paid vacation, leave, and sick time. Parking fees will be deducted each pay period.
Parking Tickets and Disputes
- Parking violations are issued by Island Health’s parking management company. Payment of violations or disputes of parking tickets should be addressed to the parking management company. Information to reach the parking management company is located on the back of the ticket.
