Adult Day Programs

Two people at the Adult Day Program

Adult Day Programs helps improve the health and quality of life for seniors. An Island Health case manager will need to help you access the program.

We offer a variety of adult day services, including:

  • Day respite
  • Health monitoring
  • Therapeutic and recreational activities
  • Bathing programs at some sites

We also support community agencies that provide outreach and volunteer services.

Adult Day Programs provide:

  • Socialization - stay connected to your community through therapeutic and recreational activities
  • Caregiver rest and relief - give family caregivers a break to rest, reconnect with others or run errands.

How much does it cost?

Clients may be charged up to $10 per day to attend an Adult Day Program. This fee is for supplies, the meal and transportation. There is also a small cost for bathing services. Ask your case manager for more details.

How do I access it?

Island Health works in partnership with a number of facilities across Vancouver Island to provide adult day programs.  Access to an adult day program is through your case manager. For more information please contact the Community Access Line.  Please do not contact the sites directly regarding adult day programs.

Private adult day services are also available in some communities. Search for adult day programs in your area on the HealthLinkBC Services and Resources listing.
