Andy Adams is a former City Councillor and Mayor of Campbell River, B.C., as well as former Director with the Strathcona Regional District. For most of his career he has served the health sector in a variety of positions, including as Manager, General Support and Manager, Environmental Services (North Island) with Vancouver Island Health Authority. His health care management and related experience includes service with Campbell River Nootka Community Health, the Campbell River and District General Hospital and Victoria General Hospital. He began his career at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a food services, housekeeping and laundry worker.
Over the last decade, Andy has been active in his community as a Director on the Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital Board, Comox-Strathcona Regional Solid Waste Board, as a Trustee with the Municipal Finance Authority, and as a Director/Treasurer with the Island Coast Economic Trust.
Andy Adams was first appointed to the Board of Island Health on May 4, 2023. His current term expires on December 31, 2025.
